Did you miss us?

We were never really away, but the website definitely was.

A few months ago we moved web hosts and with that came a bunch of problems. First, we switch from Ruby on Rails to PHP. We did this because RoR (as people abbreviate it) became a it difficult to update. With that decision came also the idea to revamp the layout of the website. It's a small change but worth it.

Expect the website to be updated regularly but at least we can now show off our products and some of friends.

We wish all of you an exciting new year. There are some big plans coming from us that we will share as the time goes by.

The first of course is that we just made some updates to the website to make it more mobile friendly.

As for our apps. We have some updates in mind to our smaller apps. RSS Menu is currently the big app and is turning 18 years old this year.

Time is too relative indeed.

Guanaknow 1.2 soon available!

We've been working very closely with Guanaknow to bring their events listing to the iPhone (and also to iPad).

They are a website dedicate to list all kinds of events that are happening in the city of Guanajuato, Mexico. If you are in this part of the world it's definitely worth checking them out.

While the amount of updates have been low lately, we wanted to let you know that we have not abandoned any of our products. Software development is still the core business of e dot studios, but we have found some other interesting stuff that we will reveal in the coming weeks. In the mean time, rest assured that we plan on updating our apps to continue working the best they can.

Guanaknow app will no longer be updated.

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that the app Guanaknow will no longer be updated for the time being. The wonderful team at Guanaknow has ceased operations for the time being. We will keep the app in the App Store but updates will not happen until we know more. Be advised that it is possible that the app will disappear completely. I you were/are a user of this app, thanks for your support.

Lack of updates

It is of no surprise that we've been lacking in making the required updates for both this website and our app. We have not abandoned you, but we have been thinking about the next era for e dot studios. The current state of apps (both macOS and iOS) has been very hard to maintain. While we appreciate that our apps have had some success and people generally seem to like them and we certainly like making them, we haven't done a great job at maintaining them. Our biggest app, RSS Menu, is close to turning 20 years. And while the app still gets downloaded, maintaining this app is hard labor since it has technology from way back in the day that has only been patched by us, not necessarily fixed. So what's ahead? Well we have some ideas, but nothing is set in stone yet. But we will definitely let you all know. We apologize if this post is kind of vague and doesn't add anything new, but we are working on making something cool for you.
